May 18th Finger Weaving Craft Class with Kathy Kirchoff

We have had a fabulous year so far! Our gatherings have been instructive, educational, and enlightening! So what do we have planned for May?

We are going to have an exceptional Craft Day to teach traditional Cherokee Finger Weaving! Our own Kathy Kirchoff, who is a master weaver, will be providing instruction. Materials will be provided. All we need is each of you to come and enjoy a really unique opportunity to learn why it is such an important part of our culture and how it is done!

Join us at the Guild! We will be meeting from 10am until 2pm. In addition to finger weaving we will also have materials for medicine pouches and corn bead necklaces. The Cherokee Nation is sending kits for the pouches and necklaces. As usual when doing crafts, we will have ample time to visit with each other and enjoy that gadugi spirit! We will provide pizza and beverages for lunch. Those who attended the Cherokee Language Class can teach us some Cherokee words and/or phrases. We are going to make language an integral part of our gatherings going forward, so come and review or learn something new! Let us know if you will attend so we order a slice of pizza for you. We guarantee it will be uwotlvdi!
